I feel like an idiot but I cannot figure out how to wire the top off that goes with the RKE. Has anybody set theirs up with 2 sensors wired inline?

Sherri, could you help me with the abbreviation of who RKE is for starters? I'm just not sure of what hardware you're working with.

Let me know how u make out and how well it works. im thinking of buying the float switches for our RKL and using those for our ato to help reduce the clutter from our current ato.

I have one..I  just don't use it for top off..sorry but see you got it figured out..but...why do you need the soldering gun?...which model did you get?..I ask cause the first one i got I had to return cause there were white electrical problems with it...the kind that had solid face..touch sensitive.....looks slick but..had problems..so they sent me the one that doesn't look as space age..with separate buttons....no problems now....I think you'll love it...

here's the link on the DA website to my thread:

http://www.forum.digitalaquatics.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6459&p=20955#p20955

I had read enough so I knew that I wanted two float switches wired inline -- just didn't know what the best way to wire inline would be. Shawn is buying the solder, flux and shrink tubing today and will solder tonight. He's done more recent soldering than me. I soldered PC boards when I was in high school for a job I had.  That was one or two years ago!  Grin

If you need any help I've held positions in the high tech field as an Elect/Mech Build Tech in engineering prototype products before the bottom dropped out and jobs were outsourced. I have a soldering iron, heat shrink, heat gun and an ohm meter. I know enough to be dangerous.....j/k

You're welcome, any time I can help let me know. Set a steak from the grill and a beer with all the equipment in front of him. That might motivate him.

Sherri, I've been looking into a RKE and reading as much as I can and read a few posts on the ATO system. From what I've gathered is a cut and dry connecting of the wires from a float switch to the RKE wires to the module. One for low water sensor and the other for high water. Program the unit for each accordingly and pump on and pump off. Set for an alarm if water rises to high. A float switch can be installed for a skimmer in the same manner to prevent overflow.

Oh I have figured it out now Leroy. All that is left is the soldering. Can't get hubbie's attention at the moment with Mill challenges. It's been many years since I soldered but I may just have to do it myself.
