We'd like to upgrade our jalli reflector on the left side of our tank to another lumenmax 3 reflector (we have one on the right half of the tank). We'd like to use the jalli ballast but the plug is different then the lumenmax reflector. Is there any problem with cutting the ends off the jalli reflector and splicing it to the lumenmax reflector or do we need to buy another galaxy ballast?

No problem doing this at all.  I've done this on quite a few different pendents and ballasts over the years.  Just practice proper electrical safety and make the splice as waterproof as possible and you'll be golden.

Cool, thank you. I plan on solder and heatshrink. The same way we did all the wiring on the light for our 10 gallon.

I have done the same - solder and heat shrink tubing. If you want to go the extra mile, you can squirt a dab of Silicone sealant on the splice just before you shrink the tubing. Use just enough Silicone so that after shrinking, a bit oozes out the ends of tubing.
Maybe unnecessary, but makes for a great waterproof connection.
