YEAR END RAFFLE AND MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

To raise money for the club and future events, we are raffling off
a complete Eclipse 12g aquarium system (generously donated by Aquarium Gallery)
This would make a great display or self contained Quarantine/Hospital tank.

Raffle Tickets are $5 each  or 3 for $10 and available to anyone.

As a New/Renew club member bonus, if you sign up as a New paid member or Renew your existing membership for $25 for the year between Nov 15th and December 7th, you will get a FREE ticket and automatically be entered for the prize drawing.

The prize drawing will be held at our December meeting at Aquarium Gallery December 7th.
You do NOT have to be present to win.

For club members doing early renewals:  The renewal will extend after the remainder of your current yearly membership so you won't lose any time!

Tickets and/or memberships may be purchased at the December meeting up until the actual drawing on Dec 7th, or on-line by sending via PayPal to graveyardworm@comcast.net.  You can also send a personal message to any of the club staff to make other payment arrangements for tickets or memberships.

Thank you for your support. 2009 is going to be an exciting year.

P.S. Make sure to let your significant other know that this would make a great Christmas gift.

So far I think 2 or 3 people have tickets for this great little tank set up. Remember you dont have to be a club member to purchase tickets.

Besides purchasing tickets prior to the drawing this Sunday,
You can conveniently purchase raffle tickets electronically through Paypal to david    (send to graveyardworm@comcast.net)
Just leave a note in their comment field that it's for the Raffle & or Membership so he knows.

We'll PM you your ticket numbers and write your name on the stubs as well.

Ramping this up a bit and hoping for more turnout.

So here's what we're gonna do. The club is adding some easy to keep coral frags to the raffle. The tank set up will still be awarded at the AG meeting on Sunday as promised for the early bird ticket purchases. The winner of the tanks ticket will be added back to the pot for a second drawing. The second drawing will take place at the December Yankee Swap meeting, and the additional prizes are :drumroll:

3 Galaxia frags, basically single polyp frags with new heads budding.
4 Pipe Organ coral frags
4 Purple/green Ricordia frags

You dont need to be present at either meeting to win, but you should consider arrangements to pic up your prize at the meetings, or the prize can be picked up at my home in Nottingham.

Pics are of the colonies that the frags were made from.

Hey everyone - we've gone through round-1 of the Raffle (winning entry announced here)

We got a great response at the meeting with folks buying raffle tickets and this surely has been a help to raise funds for things like our upcoming co-sponsored Anthony Calfo event with club SWAM.

Don't forget, this isn't the end of the Membership promotion or Raffle.   We are continuing it a few weeks more and will hold another raffle drawing on Dec 19th 2008 January 3rd 2009 for the corals listed above, a $25 Gift Certificate generously donated by member Anthony "Blader123" to JW' Hills Sport Bar in Manchester, and a few other surprise bonus prizes.

Thanks for supporting NHRC - The fun continues!

Just so people know - the 19th came and went but we didn't have a gathering (crappy snow and all sorts of other catastrophes) but we STILL plan on holding the raffle, and the current plan is to extend it until the Holiday party/meeting (right now tentative for Sat Jan 3rd 2009).   We will honor the existing raffle entries (and any new ones) until that date.   Will try to throw in some more prizes to sweeten the pot.

Cheers

Good suggestions in bringing this up again.  I've been too preoccupied by some turns in real life and simply haven't had as much time/energy for club stuff lately it seams.

But two things I think are pretty important to do soon.

Year end Membership Drive with some sort of contest/drawing type thing.   We haven't had a contest or raffle/drawing in quite some time.   I think we're well "over due" there.
I think the idea of tieing in the raffle with new or renewed memberships was very popular.

The other thing is Annual elections for Club BOD and other volunteer positions.   One of the biggest goals early on was NOT to lock in a long term BOD but allow the general membership to be involved.   It's been a year since the current BOD formed, so it's time to open the doors again there too.   Stay tuned on both activities.   We'll post something soon.
